Rules of Use

Electronic resources include subscribed databases and e-books. These resources are made available free of charge within the scope of EKUAL (ULAKBIM Electronic Resources National Academic License). Databases can be accessed remotely 24/7.

The use of electronic resources is subject to the provisions of the Law No. 5846 on Intellectual and Artistic Works and the subscription and license agreements made with the subscribed databases provider institutions. According to these license agreements:

• Only the right to use electronic resources is granted. All ownership rights of the publications belong to the seller or producer company.

• All or most of the publications in the database or all or most of the book cannot be copied.

• Electronic resources cannot be used for commercial purposes.

• Only academics, students and administrative staff of Istanbul Galata University can benefit from the databases.

• Distribution of content and information via electronic mailing lists or addresses is prohibited.

Violation of the rules in the agreements made by the users may jeopardize the access of Istanbul Galata University members to licensed electronic resources and may result in the cancellation of the service provided and punishment of the institution. All library users who utilize library services are deemed to have accepted the copyright laws.
